A recent travel talk on Twitter threw out a few interesting questions about staying healthy and relaxing while travelling. Not surprisingly both questions were answered with variations on good eating, good drinking (lots of cocktails) and generally getting around and enjoying the local scene. All valid points and certainly activities that we partake in.
In between coffee, croissants, cake and general adventures you’ll usually find me curled up with a good (hopefully) book relaxing and switching off from all the technology. This small ritual helps keep me mentally healthy and helps me to relax or enjoy the place that I am in. Think bus stops, train stations, airports….
The great thing about travelling with a book and staying in hostels- even more book choices. Most hostels will have a 1:1 unofficial book exchange going on. Not only do you keep you bags lighter by only taking 1 book you’ll be introduced to a whole new world of books that you never knew existed.
