It’s the night before the flight. Not a sound in my house,
Not even a mouse.
Visa are stamped. Passports are ramped and ready to go.
Our bags are packed.
And my nerves are racked.
With less than 24 hours until we are on a plane, Vietnam bound I am going to be difficult to deal with. For months now we have plotted, planned, dream and schemed up a fun-tastic adventure. This trip will combine our love of adventure by cycling from Saigon through to Thailand via Cambodia, and a love of food via Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Yes I know we will see amazing things and bring back spectacular stories. But none of this calms my nerves.
The world of What If has started to play on repeat in my head. I know that everything will be ok, but it doesn’t stop me with dealing with the dreaded travelers nerves.
I have done all that I possibly can. The rest is up to the universe.
The things that worry me are pony and dogs. Both worries are accounted for with lovely, responsible people looking after them whilst we are away.
Our friends and family have copies of our itinerary incase we go astray.
Have I chosen the most suitable accommodation for our needs?
Travel insurance-check!
There is never enough money, so I never worry about money. An extra $100,000 wouldn’t go astray though.
My coping mechanisms are simple-
Good nights sleep
Good book
Good puppy cuddles.
These are not anxious nerves, though I am a wee bit anxious about the unknown. These are nerves of pure excitement. This isn’t the journey of our lifw. Our life is the journey and we are going to enjoy every day of it.
Enjoy your holiday!
We are having a great time
